to Come Holy Ghost
Heavenly Father, You sent your Spirit to transform the Apostles into heroes of evangelical strength on the day of Pentecost. Thank You for granting that same Spirit to our child in the Sacrament of Confirmation. Pour down upon him/her the sevenfold gifts of the Spirit that he/she may more closely resemble Jesus and be an intrepid witness in the world to You and your Divine Son. Amen.
For a Child's Confirmation
Grant, Almighty God, that we, who have been redeemed from the old life of sin by our baptism into the death and resurrection of Thy Son Jesus Christ, may be renewed in Thy Holy Spirit, and live in righteousness and true holiness; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
