A Prayer When Irritated

to the Prayer of St. Francis

Heavenly Father, I am filled with irritation over some occurrences that have taken place, and it has led to a general impatience with things. I get very unhappy with my lot and with those closest to me. Help me to overcome this feeling and to cultivate a sense of patience. Restore to me a sense of prayer and of total confidence in You, and enable me to accept whatever comes with true Christian equanimity. For after this life, You have reserved for your children a joy of unimaginable proportions. Amen.
