Lord
Jesus Christ, I know that your call never comes to me in a vacuum
but in the circumstances of my daily life. Hence, my response
cannot be given
only in the privacy of my own mind; it must overflow into my
daily life.
You call me through my family, through my community or Church,
and through the world.
Teach me to serve others in the knowledge that those actions of
mine
which advance true progress of the Church and the world are my
way
of saying yes to your call. At the same time, let me take the
opportunity
to make your Gospel known through my actions as I work with them
to build
the temporal order, directing it to You who are its final goal.
Amen.

Prayer to St. John Francis Regis, Patron of Social Workers
Zealous
worker for souls, you wrought many miracles and labored
for all classes of people, but especially to convert the
Huguenots. To you
St. John Vianney of Ars attributed both his vocation and his
spiritual successes.
Make social workers go about doing good not as mere
humanitarians, but as messengers of Christ who have a
supernatural love for their clients. Amen.

The Right Words
Lord, give me the
right words to say
To broken hearts that come my way
To those who have been hurt before
That, I not hurt them any more
To those whose
hearts have hardened up
To those who won't hold out their cup
That, Lord, You long to overflow
With love and mercy. Lord, let me know
That I might have
the words to say
That I might plant a seed today
That glory would be given to You
Through all I say and all I do
Lord, give me the
right words to say
More hearts are breaking every day
They're out there crying in the night
I long to help them see the light
But, fragile are
those souls and weak
So this is why Your words I seek
And pray Thee give me words to say
That I, not one soul, turn away.
